BY TRAIN:

South Orange is a short 25 minute train ride from Penn Station in New York.  We are along the Midtown Direct route into the city.  The station is at the center of town at the corner of Sloan Street and South Orange Avenue.  Trains run regularly both weedays and weekends.  Visit the NJ Transit web page for more details.

BY CAR:

From Garden State Parkway South
To exit 145 to Route 280 West. Follow “280 West” directions below.

From Parkway North
Take Parkway to Exit 145. Take Exit 142 (Stay to extreme right at toll booth prior to exit). Take Route 78 East to exit 54 (Hillside) and follow signs to Route 78 West (crossing over Route 78 and getting back on the westbound side). Follow “78 West” directions below.

From New Jersey Turnpike South
To exit 15W to Route 280 West. Follow “280 West” directions below.

From New Jersey Turnpike North
To exit 14 to Route 78 West LOCAL. Follow “78 West” directions below.

From 78 West
To exit 50B. Proceed onto Vauxhall Road and go three traffi c lights to intersection with Valley Street. Make a right-hand turn onto Valley Street. Continue on Valley Street until you reach South Orange Avenue. For the train station, turn left to the 2nd light and turn left onto Sloan Street; for Village Hall, proceed straight through the intersection (Valley turns into Scotland Rd.) and turn left into the parking lot behind Village Hall.

From 78 East
To exit 49B. Follow signs to “Valley Street” jughandle (approximately 3/10 mile once you are off of the exit ramp and onto Springfi eld Avenue.) Make a right into jughandle (to effectively make a left onto Valley St.) and proceed straight through the light onto Valley Street. Follow Valley Street approximately 3 miles to South Orange Avenue. For the train station, turn left to the 2nd light and turn left onto Sloan Street; for Village Hall, proceed straight through the intersection (Valley turns into Scotland Rd.) and turn left into the parking lot behind Village Hall.

From 280 East
To exit at Mt. Pleasant Avenue. Make a right onto Mt. Pleasant Ave. and go to the fi rst traffi c light. Make a left at the light onto Gregory Avenue and proceed 1.3 miles to South Orange (at this point Gregory changes to Wyoming Ave.) This brings you to South Orange Ave. Make a left onto South Orange Avenue. Proceed down into the central business district under the train overpass. For train station, immediately turn right at the light onto Sloan Street; for Village Hall, continue on South Orange Avenue to light at large intersection, corner of Valley St., Scotland Rd., and South Orange Avenue, turn left at the light and turn left into parking lot behind Village Hall.

From 280 West
To exit 10. Take fi rst left at traffi c light onto Northfi eld Avenue. Proceed three traffi c lights to Gregory Ave. Make a left onto Gregory Ave. and proceed 1.3 miles to South Orange (at this point Gregory changes to Wyoming Ave.) This brings you to South Orange Ave. Make a left onto South Orange Avenue. Proceed down into the central business district under the train overpass.
